Description

The 3.0 kWh load shed kit is suitable for a few Lights/Television/Decoder/ADSL/Laptop/PC/Fridge.

Components:

1 x Kodak Axpert VM III – 3kW 24v Inverter Charger

2 x Revov- 100amp 12V

1 x Keto 125A DC Battery Disconnect System

1 x Battery cable connector pack

1 x AC Protection Box – Surge Arrest – 32A Input Breaker – 40A Change Over Switch – 32A Output Breaker

NOTE: This is an improved pre solar inverter, you can load up to 4kWp of solar panels. The batteries here are also significantly improved lifespan over the Vision with 13 years of daily cycling at 80% DOD.

Installation:

The inverter needs to be wired into a distribution board or a pre designated red circuit. A red circuit is a breaker on your distribution board that will have all your persistent (immune to power outage) loads connected to it. Naturally you can also wire in an extension lead type plug point but ideally this inverter should be a more permanent fixture.

Benefits/Drawbacks

The system has a largish inverter(3kW)  and a decent battery capacity. The total expected operation of this system is 979 watts per hour during load shed (2.5hrs), anymore would exceed the desired 80% DOD but the system can run down to 100% depleted without a problem.

An additional benefit of the system is the inverter which as its own built in charger, thus the system is completely self sustaining and does not require management or user intervention. It automatically kicks in when load shedding starts and automatically charges the battery when load shedding ends. You would not notice a load shed for anything connected to that system.
